With its most recent season now in the books (recap here), Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has finalized its upcoming fight card for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 19 Finale on July 6, 2014, inside the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on FOX Sports 1.
Competing for the six-figure contract in the middleweight division is Eddie Gordon (6-1), representing Team Edgar, facing off against fellow "Answer" man Dhiego Lima (9-1). Gordon punched his ticket to the big show by disposing of Matt Gabel in the opening round, then dispatched Mike King and Cathal Pendred -- both favorites of Team Penn -- later in the show.
Lima, meanwhile, got rid of Adam Stroup, followed by Tim Williams and Roger Zapata.
In light heavyweight action, Team Edgar stablemates Cory Anderson (2-0) and Matt Van Buren (6-2) will hook 'em up for a spot on the 205-pound roster. Anderson tossed Kelly Anundson, then proceeded to rid the show of Josh Clarke and Patrick Walsh.
Van Buren also scored a hat trick by defeating Daniel Vizcaya, Chris Fields, and Daniel Spohn.
TUF 19 Finale will be headlined by a featherweight rematch pitting former lightweight rivals -- and coaches of this past season -- Frankie Edgar and BJ Penn against one another for the third (and hopefully final) time. In addition, Daniel Spohn will return to face fellow light heavyweight semifinalist Patrick Walsh.
