UFC Fight Night 46: "McGregor vs. Brandao" from The O2 in Dublin, Ireland, has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four of the 20 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's heading home with a second sack of simoleons.
Errrr... pump the brakes. This is where I remind you the bonus structure has changed. "Fight of the Night" will still be awarded but the best knockout and submission will not earn any extra cash. Instead, there will be two "Performance of the Night" awards dished out.
Got it? Good.
This time around, teammates Conor McGregor and Gunnar Nelson each earned "Performance of the Night" bonuses for their stoppage victories over Diego Brandao and Zak Cummings in the main and co-main event, respectively. Meanwhile, the Cathal Pendred vs. Mike King thriller that saw the former submit the latter in the second frame was awarded "Fight of the Night" honors.
Here are the special UFC Fight Night 46 bonuses:
Performance of the Night -- Conor McGregor
Performance of the Night -- Gunnar Nelson
Fight of the Night -- Cathal Pendred vs. Mike King
Again, each fighter received $50,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as that information becomes available.
