Efrain Escudero will make his return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Octagon on Sept. 13, 2014 when he faces Fransisco Trinaldo at UFC Fight Night 51, which goes down in Brasilia, Brazil.
The news (via MMA Fighting) comes just one day after "Hecho En Mexico" inked a deal to compete for Titan FC.
But according to newly-appointed Titan FC COO Lex McMahon -- who also serves as agent to many top UFC stars including Rory MacDonald and Liz Carmouche -- he gave Escudero his blessing to go full Lebron James and opt out of his contract in order to head back home.
In fact, as McMahon revealed on a recent episode of "The MMA Hour," other fighters will receive the same treatment should UFC come calling.
This will be Escudero's third stint with UFC, who first earned his shot in the big leagues as winner of season eight of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). After going 3-2, Efrain received his pink slip from the Zuffa-owned promotion in 2010, before making his return a year later.
After two straight defeats, Escudero got the axe, yet again, and went on to lose two more fights on the regional circuit.
However, the MMA Lab-trained fighter found his groove and has gone 4-1 in his last five outings, which was good enough to earn him another invite back to the Octagon.
