Top lightweight veteran Ross Pearson has answered the call of Abel Trujillo and will head to "Vacationland" to throw hands at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 47 event on FOX Sports 1 from inside the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine, on Aug. 16, 2014.
Pearson steps in for Bobby Green, who was shipped to San Jose to rescue Josh Thomson.
The "Real Deal" was real mad about his loss to Diego Sanchez, which took place last month in Albuquerque, New Mexico. That's because the scrappy Brit got screwed on the judges' scorecards, despite dominanting a majority of the fight. Pearson dropped to 15-7 (1 NC) in defeat.
But still got paid his win bonus, thanks to a sympathetic Dana White.
Trujillo (12-5) is coming off back-to-back knockouts over Roger Bowling and Jamie Varner, the latter of which earned "Killa" lots of cash, scooping up both "knockout of the night" and "fight of the night" bonuses for his slobberknocker against "The Worm."
Can he make it three straight?
UFC Fight Night 47 will be headlined by light heavyweight rising stars Ryan Bader and Ovince St. Preux, who battle for a spot in the 205-pound title chase. Elsewhere on the card, Tim Boetsch throws hands opposite Brad Tavares, while Shawn Jordan jumps back into the fray to collide with Jack May at the network-televised event.
