Unless he's moving up to middleweight, Georges St. Pierre probably isn't coming back to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) before year's end, unless stuffing your face with a creamy cone is the latest fad in mixed martial arts (MMA) weight management.
Not that I'm judging, mind you.
The good news is, we may finally find out if and when the former 170-pound kingpin will make his return to the cage, as "Rush" is scheduled to appear on Inside MMA -- via AXS TV -- this Friday night (July 11, 2014) at 9 p.m. ET (check your local listings).
After walking away from MMA last December, St. Pierre tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee earlier this year while wrestling, forcing him to go under the knife (pic) and endure several months on the sidelines. But instead of pushing him closer to retirement, it's actually made him more motivated than ever.
St. Pierre required surgery to repair the same injury (different knee) back in 2011, which sidelined the French-Canadian for more than one year. Upon his return, he defeated Nick Diaz and Johny Hendricks by way of decision before taking a break to deal with a litany of personal and professional problems.
