It's inevitable. The day Weidman signed the fight agreement, he lost.
Machida is a vastly better striker. He's proven that. Weidman is a sloppy striker. Watch his KO of Silva in slow motion. Sloppy. He was just flailing at a flat footed clown.
Machida is too fast for Weidman, especially at 185. Weidman is just painfully slow.
Machida is slick on the ground. His BJJ has come a long way. Watch him work off his back against Mousasi. Some great stuff. He's not Silva, who was ALWAYS like a turtle on his back.
Weidman will struggle to take Machida down, if he can even get to him. Machida has fought bigger and better wrestlers and Judokas, and stuffed their takedown attempts.
Anyone can win in MMA. A punch or an injury can change a fight. But Machida is a seriously bad matchup for Weidman.
Weidman seems like a great guy and a fighter, but I'm not jumping on that bandwagon. Machida FTW.
