Johnson vs. Bagautinov live blog: Round 5

Despite being down on the judges scorecards, Ali Bagautinov was locked in the forever clinch with Demetrious Johnson once again in round five.

It did him no favors.

The two were mostly at a stalemate save for Johnson having his way moving the challenger around and landing knees, both to the head and to the body. Bagautinov attempted a takedown and Johnson screamed out in either pain or great effort.

The referee checked and apparently Johnson said he was okay.

With just over one minute to go, Johnson continually fired knees. Bagautinov got away and looked to land a hard shot but the champion responded with a wheel kick.

The stats were shown at this point and they left no doubt who won this match-up.

And still.

Johnson vs. Bagautinov live blog: Round 4

The SCREAMING WOMAN returned with a vengeance early in this round and for some reason no one cared that the entire viewing audience was having their ears assaulted by an unruly fan.

Johnson fired low with a kick while Bagautinov once again tried to get his hands on the champion. He failed. A jab from the challenger came up lame while another low kick from Demetrious did not.

Guess what happened from there?

You got it!

THAT WOMAN KEPT SCREAMING.

Back in the cage, Johnson was obliterating Bagautinov with knees from the clinch while Ali was lost trying to keep up with the blistering pace. He couldn't.

One more to go.

Johnson vs. Bagautinov live blog: Round 3

Johnson opened this round with a low kick inside. Bagautinov went back to what his game plan appeared to be, which was pressing Johnson against the fence in a never ending clinch that everyone hated.

The referee included.

Once prompted, Demetrious blasted away with a knee that hit dead center in the forehead and woke everyone up. They reset in the middle and exchanged lightning fast punches and kicks with PERFECT TECHNIQUE, according to Joe Rogan.

Bagautinov grabbed the champion up and threw him down for a takedown but, as before, he was unable to do anything once he got Johnson to the mat.

"Mighty Mouse" responded by hopping back up and hitting some knees.

Johnson vs. Bagautinov live blog: Round 2

Bagautinov looked for the clinch early but Johnson responded with hard knees that forced the challenger to break away. This gave the champion the opening to establish Octagon control, taking the center and pushing his foe's back against the fence.

A high kick missed but a low kick found its mark.

Bagautinov landed a hard shot. Not long after he fired off a head kick that appeared to hit home, though Johnson walked through it.

They proceeded to clinch up and a woman was screaming at the top of her lungs in the crowd and it was utterly unbearable. Meanwhile, they battled back and forth along the fence, Johnson continually firing off those knees.

Bagautinov was cut above his eyebrow as the horn sounded.

Johnson vs. Bagautinov live blog: Round 1

Demetrious Johnson opened with a leg kick inside. Ali Bagautinov was immediately criticized by color commentator Joe Rogan for standing flat footed in front of the champion.

Bagautinov fired off with punches but "Mighty Mouse" was too quick and swiftly side stepped each one. Finally, after missing about 10 more time, "Puncher King" decided his best course of action was to clinch up and press the champ against the fence.

The action was slow against the cage, enough so that the referee demanded action. Johnson responded with knees to the body while Bagautinov earned a hard takedown.

Johnson sprang back to his feet and the round ended there.
