Dana White insists Chael Sonnen won't unretire after dust settles because 'there's no point in him fighting anymore'

And he also believes the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) is going to stuff Wanderlei Silva into a crystal pod and launch him into the Phantom Zone like General Zod. No really, he actually said that.

He's really done.

That's according to Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White, who insists embattled middleweight Chael Sonnen will stay retired, and not sneak back into mixed martial arts (MMA) after the dust settles in the wake of his UFC 175 drug test fiasco (more on that here).

That's according to comments White made during a recent media scrum (video here):

"He retired. If Chael came back to me and said he wants to fight again I'd go, 'Dude, why?' The offers that this guy gets every day for stuff, he couldn't possibly do everything that he gets offered. There's no point in him fighting anymore. I think he went out on his own terms. He's like, 'I'm gonna choose my personal health.' There's no way. I just don't see it happening. What makes sense other than Wanderlei [Silva]? And Wanderlei's gonna be gone for a long time."

Silva also ran afoul of Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) and is expected to face the music this Tuesday (June 17, 2014) -- assuming he accepts the invite.

Sonnen, meanwhile, will focus on his parenting duties and continue on as MMA analyst for FOX Sports, in addition to whatever other job opportunities trickle in. He may no longer have the Octagon to call home, but he at least has the gift of gab.
