Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight veteran Danny Castillo has been paired off against 155-pound rising star Tony Ferguson for the upcoming UFC 176 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place on Aug. 2, 2014 inside Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
UFC announced the 155-pound match up earlier today.
Castillo (17-6) left Charlie Brenneman looking up at the lights when they threw hands at the UFC 172 event last April in Baltimore, Maryland. Putting down "The Spaniard" got "Last Call" back into the win column after a tough majority decision loss to Edson Barboza in 2013.
But he's got his hands full in "The City of Angels."
Ferguson (15-3) has been nearly perfect since capturing The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 13 crown, racking up five UFC wins with four finishes. A unanimous decision loss to fellow TUF guy Michael Johnson stands as "El Cucuy's" lone blemish during a stellar 8-1 run.
Who takes it?
UFC 176 will be headlined by a featherweight match up pitting Jose Aldo against Chad Mendes, in a championship rematch from their UFC 142 encounter in Brazil, which "Junior" won by knockout.
Elsewhere on the card, Fabricio Camoes and Gray Maynard hook 'em up in lightweight action, while Derek Brunson joins the fray for a middleweight scrap opposite fellow Strikeforce import Lorenz Larkin.
