Wanderlei Silva vs. Vitor Belfort? 'Axe Murderer' tries to finagle 'Phenom' fight after NSAC sits Sonnen for UFC 175

Look who came out of hiding ...

Embattled Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight Wanderlei Silva has emerged from his bar crawl in Brazil to propose a possible showdown -- and rematch -- against Vitor Belfort at the upcoming UFC 175 pay-per-view (PPV) event on July 5, 2014, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Which sounds a little troll-ish, all things considered.

"The Axe Murderer" was bounced from the "Weidman vs. Machida" event earlier this month after he refused to take a random drug test from Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), who allegedly sent in a couple of reps armed with English and ultimatums.

Silva refused and was pulled from UFC 175, but still insists he's going to compete over Fourth of July Weekend after he clears up this little misunderstanding, despite the fact that he's already been labeled as "done."

Like his former Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Brazil 3" coach Chael Sonnen.

"The American Gangster" failed the same test that sent Silva into exile (more on that here), which means Belfort has no one to fight at UFC 175. Not that it matters at this point, since there was no guarantee the Brazilian would even get licensed after he (you guessed it) failed a random drug test back in February.

Got all that?

It's a big, convoluted mess. There is talk of keeping Belfort on the card if he can, in fact, convince the commission he was not cheating. Silva, on the other hand, may have a more difficult time getting back into the good graces of "Sin City's" governing body, but at least he's trying.

I'll give him a T for effort.
