'Not shocked:' Watch Dana White reaction to Chael Sonnen failed drug test ahead of UFC 175

There are supposedly three sides to every story. In the case of UFC 175, there are too many to count.

"I'm not shocked ... this has been lingering.... Both [Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) and Chael Sonnen] are at fault. [NSAC] could have laid it out better for how they were going to end [Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)], what would be banned and what wouldn't be banned and the guys coming down off it. It's a matter of they're not very educated on TRT — it’s the thing that has made this whole thing impossible. Anyway, it’s Chael's fault, too, because Chael should have called the athletic commission and said, 'this is what my doctor told me I need to do to come off this stuff … here is what I’m taking.’ He absolutely should have done that."

-- So much for positive progress! Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White appeared on "FOX Sports Live" earlier this evening to share his thoughts on the failed drug test of Chael Sonnen, placing shared blame on Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) and "American Gangster." In short, Sonnen should have been more proactive about communicating his out-of-competition medical treatment and NSAC should have more clearly defined requirements for fighters who are coming off now-banned TRT. However, it seems not all the medication Sonnen was taking -- and didn't disclose -- was TRT-related. He was trying to have conceive a child with his new wife. And he was successful. Silver lining for Sonnen aside, his involvement in UFC 175 can best be described as a total disaster. The initial Wanderlei Silva fight was called off because of drug testing-related issues, Vitor Belfort's checkered performance-enhancing past was again thrust into the spotlight and Sonnen's mixed martial arts (MMA) career was potentially neutered. Meanwhile, UFC is forced to again defend the integrity of its athletes rather than promote a blockbuster pay-per-view (PPV) event that is headlined by two great champions, Chris Weidman and Ronda Rousey. Oh, and there's a pretty important event up in Vancouver, Canada, this weekend, too, we hear.
