Although he was a heavy underdog going into the fight, TJ Dillashaw absolutely destroyed Renan Barao for five full rounds in the main event of last night's (Sat., May 24, 2014) UFC 173: "Barao vs. Dillashaw" pay-per-view (PPV) from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. His prize for doing so is the UFC bantamweight championship and the new designation as the best 135-pound fighter walking the planet. Actually, if the Dana White hype machine is still stuck in overdrive, he may be the pound-for-pound best fighter alive right now, right?!? Either way, Dillashaw proved he deserves every bit of heaping praise currently being lavished upon him after that five-round good old fashioned passionate ass whooping he just dished out to the Brazilian who, we were told, couldn't be stopped. The streak is over and all hail our new bantamweight king.
