Mark Hunt welcomes Roy Nelson bout in Japan, because 'Big Country' is a 'better fighter' than Brendan Schaub

All that's left to do now is to get Nelson on board.

Mark Hunt's hand is healed and the "Super Samoan" is ready to get back into the swing of things, as he eyes a true heavyweight showdown against Roy Nelson in Japan.

The potential slugfest was first teased last week on UFC Tonight, suggesting that matchmakers were waiting for the fighter's health to clear up before booking the match this September.

While Hunt seems to be recuperating well from the broken left hand he suffered during his fight against Antonio Silva at UFC Fight Night 33, the jury is still out on Nelson's busted mitt.

According to Hunt, even though he couldn't accept a fight against Brendan Schaub on June 28 in his home country of New Zealand, due to his injury, he's glad that a fight against '"The Hybrid" didn't materialize, because taking him on would be like "taking a step back."

Because as Hunt recently declared on The MMA Hour (via MMA Fighting), he only wants to face the top guys.

"I feel Roy's a lot better opponent than Brendan Schaub is. He's a better fighter and I want to fight the better guys. I love [the idea of fighting in Japan]. I love fighting in Japan. I fought there 70 times. It's like my second house."

While "Big Country" has shown he possesses some of the most devastating knockout power in all of mixed martial arts (MMA), Hunt believes he can hold his own with the bearded brawler in the striking department.

The true question is whether or not Nelson cant withstand Hunt's power.

Nevertheless, "Super Samoan" was very impressed with Roy's knockout over Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira at UFC Fight Night 39 (video):

"That was amazing. He's got a bomb in that hand, Dan Henderson power. It's crazy. The question is: can he withstand [my power]? Honestly, the thing is we're both heavyweights, anything could happen to anyone. It's lights out. It's who lands it, who gets you."

Dubbing it the "Battle of the Bulge," all Hunt is waiting for is a call form the UFC matchmakers to see if indeed he will be swinging heavy leather against "Big Country" in "The Land of the Rising Sun."

He wants it, the fans want it, but does Nelson?
