The injury epidemic continues.
After winning his debut fight at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 Finale nearly one year ago, Josh Samman continues to find himself unable to return to action. He was injured prior to his Uriah Hall rematch last July, and has now been pulled from his Caio Magalhaes fight at UFC on FOX 11 on April 19 in Orlando, Florida, according to MMA Fighting.
Fortunately, the promotion has a Plan B.
Replacing the former TUF guy is Luke Zachrich (13-2) who makes his Octagon debut on the strength of a three-fight winning streak. His last appearance ended in a submission win over Justin Gamble at AAMMA 34: "Proving Ground 2" back in August.
The Ohioan has just over a week to get himself in fighting shape.
Waiting for him will be Magalhaes (7-1), who rebounded from a debut loss to Buddy Roberts by submitting Karlos Vemola at UFC on FUEL TV 10. "Hellboy" followed that up with a unanimous decision win over Nick Ring at the UFC Fight Night 33 event back in December.
Who ya' got?
UFC on FOX 11 will feature a heavyweight No. 1 contender bout as Fabricio Werdum battles a red-hot Travis Browne in the main event. In addition, Miesha Tate takes on Liz Carmouche in women's bantamweight action, while Donald Cerrone throws leather against fellow lightweight Edson Barboza.
