Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight Conor McGregor will finally make his return to the Octagon, after going under the knife to repair a bum knee following a pair of wins over Marcus Brimage at UFC on FUEL TV 9 and Max Holloway at UFC Fight Night 26.
Is he the real deal?
The bookies seem to think so, pegging the hometown hero as a 2-to-1 favorite, but we'll find out for sure when the promotion returns to the O2 Arena in Dublin, Ireland, on July 19, 2014, as "Notorious" headlines the UFC Fight Night 46 event opposite 145-pound nemesis, Cole Miller.
UFC announced the bout earlier today.
Miller has been critical of the way McGregor has been hyped up following his 2013 debut, labeling him an overrated "show pony," who was being strung along to help the world's largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion "buy a country" (Ireland).
"Notorious" responded by offering to sponsor "Magrinho's" next prelims fight, though to be fair, the American Top Team (ATT) standout has won two straight and is fresh off a submission victory over Sam Sicilia back in January.
There is clearly some bad blood here and with Diego Sanchez busy fighting Ross Pearson (details) and Cub Swanson heading to San Antonio (more on that here), McGregor vs. Miller should prove to be a fun fight.
