Anthony Johnson beats down Phil Davis in the co-main event of last night's (Sat., April 26, 2014) UFC 172: "Jones vs. Teixeira" pay-per-view (PPV) from the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. After two years away, "Rumble" returned to the Octagon riding a six-fight win streak. He was immediately thrown to the wolves in the form of a "Wonderful" challenge with a top contender in the light heavyweight division. Keep in mind, he was a welterweight for much of his first run in the UFC, later moving to middleweight. Not only did he look as good as he ever has, the hype machine is already cooking up scenarios that will see him challenging for the title Jon Jones retained in the main event by blasting Glover Teixeira for five rounds. Is that crazy? Maybe, but maybe not. That's how strong this performance was. If nothing else, Johnson is making you doubt what you know about the pecking order in the 205-pound division. That's impressive. For a more detailed look at Johnson's win over Davis click here, and for complete UFC 172 results and blow-by-blow coverage of all the night's action click here.
