Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will give former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) standout Scott Jorgensen one more chance to get things turned around when he throws hands opposite Danny Martinez at the UFC Fight Night 42 event inside the Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on June 7, 2014.
The promotion announced the flyweight pairing on Wednesday.
Jorgensen (14-9) has lost three straight, including what he refers to as a "bullshit" finish against Jussier Formiga just last month in Brazil. Unfortunately, "Young Guns" has been firing blanks for quite some time and stands at just 1-5 since late 2011.
This could be do or die...
Opposing him is Martinez (16-5), who is also in dire need of a win. While losing one fight is usually not grounds for dismissal (usually), it can be when it's your Octagon debut, and you follow that up with another goose egg. "The Gremlin" better start feeding himself after midnight.
Who keeps their job on fight night?
UFC Fight Night 42 will be headlined by former UFC lightweight champion Ben Henderson, as he tries to stay alive in the 155-pound title hunt against surging division prospect Rustam Khabilov. "Smooth" hasn't seen action since squeaking past Josh Thomson back in January.
That's not all.
Elsewhere on the card, former 125-pound number one contender John Dodson will rematch John Moraga in flyweight action, while Diego Sanchez collides with lightweight scrapper Ross Pearson.
