Bangfest!
Top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight contender Myles Jury has been tasked with a 155-pound slobberknocker against Abel Trujillo at the UFC Fight Night 44: "Swanson vs. Stephens" event on FOX Sports 1 and Fight Pass, which takes place on June 28, 2014, inside AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
UFC announced the booking earlier today.
Jury (14-0) is one of the division's brightest prospects, racking up 14 straight wins with 11 finishes. "The Fury" recently outsmarted Diego Sanchez at the UFC 171 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Dallas, Texas, and raised his stock considerably by shutting down "The Dream."
He'll need to keep his hands up in "The Lone Star State."
That's because Trujillo (12-5) has a history of putting people to sleep. After pounding out Roger Bowling last December, "Killa" scored a hellacious, one-hitter quitter that saw Jamie Varner fold up like a Trapper Keeper in their 155-pound brouhaha back in February.
Fun fight.
Aside from the featherweight headliner between Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens (more on that here), The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum tangles with Nicholas Musoke in welterweight action, while Johnny Bedford locks horns with Rani Yahya in their "Brutal" 135-pound rematch.
