Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced over the weekend (Sat., April 19, 2014) at the UFC on FOX 11: "Werdum vs. Browne" pre-fight press conference that it will be making pit stops in New Jersey and Oklahoma, as the UFC machine rolls through 2014.
UFC boss Dana White revealed plans for both UFC "Fight Night" events in Atlantic City on July 16, followed by an event in Tulsa approximately one month later on August 23. These cards are expected to be broadcast on FOX Sports 1 (FS1).
The promotion returns to New Jersey after their successful UFC 169 card on Super Bowl Weekend, but unfortunately, the event was marred by two stabbings that took place in the stands. Atlantic City hasn't hosted a fight card since UFC on FOX 4, as fans would like to forget Gray Maynard's inability to neutralize Clay Guida's "Dance Dance Revolution" game plan.
The event will take place inside Revel Resort & Casino, just three days before the organization invades Dublin, Ireland, for a separate Fight Night event.
It will also be the third time the mixed martial arts (MMA) juggernaut visits the BOK Center in Oklahoma, since the state has played host to UFC 4 (headlined by a tournament final between Royce Gracie vs. Dan Severn) and UFC Fight Night 19: "Diaz vs. Guillard."
Tickets for the Atlantic City date go on sale May 30, while plans for the BOK Center event remain unannounced.
