Conor McGregor has made it a habit to call out just about everyone in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight division. Among the victims of the Irishman's' verbal assault is Dustin Poirier, whom "Notorious" dubbed a "peahead."
According to Dustin's comments to MMAjunkie Radio (via Bloody Elbow), however, he is unfazed by the insults because at the end of the day, he doesn't even know who McGregor is and wasn't aware he fought inside the Octagon.
His words:
"Conor McGregor? I've never heard of him, he fights for the UFC? I'm focused on the big fights, I've never heard of the guy."
Interesting, seeing as how the outspoken Irishman has garnered Brock Lesnar-like media attention thanks to his sharp tongue and excellent fighting skills. Skills he hasn't been able to put on display for a while due to his injuries.
Nevertheless, Conor isn't close to being on "Diamond's" radar as his attention is on Akira Corassani as they duke it out this Wednesday (April 16, 2014) at The Ultimate Fighter: "Nations" Finale.
While Dustin is adamant he has no clue who "Notorious" is, it's safe to say that Poirier and McGregor will likely have the chance to get to know each other inside the Octagon sometime down the line.
