Close judges' decision? Tyron Woodley ain't got time for that.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will ask "The Chosen One" to prove he's worthy of a division title shot by disposing of Rory MacDonald at the upcoming UFC 174 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place on June 14, 2014, inside the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
When in doubt, whoop a young dude's butt (via MMA Fighting).
"Usually I don't like to give up the home court advantage to anyone. For me it's like, I feel what Johny Hendricks was feeling where he had to continue to prove -- and continue to prove -- and continue to prove himself. So I got to go up there and whoop this young dude's butt in his backyard and send a distinctive, clear message in front of his judges, in front of his crowd, and I'll do it and that's one way to assure they don't deny me a shot at Johny Hendricks."
If he goes into Canada and knocks MacDonald clean out, I don't think there would be much of an argument.
Woodley (13-2) resurrected his title hopes after a rough patch from 2012-2013. "T-Wood" brushed off a split-decision loss to Jake Shields by knocking out former division number one contender Josh Koscheck, then followed that up with a technical knockout win (injury) over former interim champion Carlos Condit just last month.
But is he championship material? We'll find out in exactly two months.
