GLORY 15 takes place this afternoon (April 12, 2014) from Ulker Arena in Istanbul, Turkey. Headlining the card will be a lightweight battle featuring Robin Van Roosmalen vs. Marat Grigorian. The four-man light heavyweight championship tournament is also on tap and promises to be action packed with Tyrone Spong vs. Saulo Cavalari and Nathan Corbett against Turkey's favorite fighter, Gokhan Saki. GLORY kickboxing returns later today (April 12, 2014) LIVE from Ulker Arena in Istanbul, Turkey, with the main event between Robin Van Roosmalen and Marat Grigorian, and a four-man light heavyweight championship tournament featuring Tyrone Spong vs. Saulo Cavalari and Gokhan Saki vs. Nathan Corbett in opposing brackets.

The winner becomes the inaugural GLORY light heavyweight champion and earns $200,000 dollars in prize money.

The first bout is scheduled for 7 p.m. local Istanbul time, which means LIVE coverage on MMAmania.com will start around noon ET right here (see below). The fights will air on tape delay on Spike at 8 p.m. ET and will stream online. Prior to the main card, the GLORY Superfight Series will feature six fights and will also stream online.

Tournament Final: Saki vs. Spong

Round one: Spong lands a low kick. And Saki charges in recklessly. Spong lands another low kick. FIghters clinch. Song lands a left. Saki misses a left anda a right kick. Spong lands a left kick. Saki misses another left kick. Spong Lands a right low kick and injures his leg. He immediately concedes to defeat and is laying on the canvas. Tough, tough break for Spong. Saki was actually hugging Spong before the ref stopped the fight. Huge crowd in the ring as Spong is being attended too.

Very similar to the Anderson Silva injury. I don't believe it is as bad though. Spong is being strapped to a stretcher.

Final result: Gokhan Saki defeats Tyrone Spong via knockout Rd 1 1:37

Robin Van Roosmalen vs. Marat Grigorian

Round one:

Round two: Van Roosmalen lands an outside kick and misses a right. He lands another outside leg kick. Van Roosmalen lands a big right hand and then a left to the body. Grigorian checks a high kick.  Girgorian lands a right to the body and right cross at the bell.

Round three: Van Roosmalen lands a right leg kick and then a left to the body. Van Roosmalen lands a right to the body and checks an outside leg kick. The two clinch up and the ref separates. Van Roosmalen lands an inside leg kick.

Final result:  Robin Van Roosmalen via unanimous decision(29-28 28-29,30-27)

Danyo Ilunga vs. Andrei Stoica

Round one: Danyo Ilunga lands an absolute perfect right cross that drops Stoica in a corkscrew. Stoica gets up but is not in condition to continue and the ref waves it off.

Final result: Danyo Illunga defeats Andrei Stoica via knockout Rd 1

Tyrone Spong vs. Saulo Cavalari

Round one:Note, Cavalari had a full head of hair as of yesterday. It's now shaved. Cavalari comes out with two punches. SPong checks a kick and another punch. He throws a right. Clinch break by ref. SPong lands an inside leg kick and a right. Song lands a left to the body and another inside left kick. Cavalari blocks a right. Another clinch break by ref. Cavalari misses a left.  Both fighters exchange outside leg kicks and Spong misses a knee. Spong lands a glancing right behind the guard of Cavalari and a knee to the body. SPong lands another inside leg kick.   Cavalari lands a jab but eats a low kick. Spong attempts a spinning back kick and a high kick at the bell.

Round two: Spong lands an outside leg kick. He checks one by Cavalari. SPong lands another kick. Cavalari misses a left. Son blocks a right. Spong pushes Cavalari back. The two clinch up and ref separates. SPong lands a right and a right to the body Spong lands two leg kicks. He misses a back kick.  SPong lands a left to the body and  a  big right. He has Cavalari in the corner. He lands another left and the round ends.

Round three: Spong catches a kick and Cavalari falls down. Spong lands another outside leg kick. Spong lands another punch to the body. Spong lands another knee to the body. Cavalari lands an outside leg kick. Cavalari lands a jab and the two clinch up. Cavalari misses a left. Spong misses a big right hand. Cavalari lands a good combo to the body. Spong lands an inside leg kick and a right straight. Barring any thing controversial Spong should be advancing to the final.

Final result: Tyrone Spong defeats Saulo Cavalari via unanimous decision (30-27,30-27,29-28)

Nathan Corbett vs. Gokhan Saki

Round one: Crowd is going crazy cheering Saki, Saki. Corbett lands a low kick. Saki fires a left. Corbett answers with a combo. Saki misses a low kick and then runs in with a combo. Corbett lands a knee to the body. Saki fires a body kick. Saki misses a high kick. Corbett blocks a couple of punches and lands to the body. Corbett misses a high kick and lands a jab. Saki lands  solid left hook. Corbett lands a low kick and blocks a right. Corbett lands an outside leg kick. After a left hook by Saki, Corbett is bleeding. Not sure what caused it. Ref stops it for doctor to check. Doctor waves it off. Strange ending. Saki will be plenty fresh for the tournament final. Apparently his cauliflower ear exploded.

Final result: Gokhan Saki def. Nathan Corbett via TKO Rd 1 2:35
