The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) today made available the list of fighter injuries and medical suspensions for those athletes who competed at the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 9: "Carl vs. Palhares" event last Saturday night (March 29, 2014) at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada (results).
Main event headliner Steve Carl could be riding the pine for up to six months -- which I'm sure comes as a surprise to no one -- after his submission loss to leg-hating Brazilian Rousimar Palhares (watch their fight here). The Iowan can jump right back into the fray, however, if the doctor clears him ahead of time.
That's not all.
Here are the complete WSOF 9 injuries and corresponding medical suspensions:
Steve Carl: Must undergo right foot/ankle X-ray to be cleared by orthopedic physician. Also requires MRI of right knee or clearance by orthopedic physician or no contest until 09/26/14.
Ozzy Dugulubgov: Must undergo CT of brain and right orbital area before 04/13/14 or have MRI of brain and clearance on possible right orbital fracture. Minimum suspension until 05/29/14; no contact until 05/14/14.
Tyler Stinson: Suspended until 05/14/14; no contact until 04/29/14.
Josh Rettinghouse: Suspended until 04/29/14; no contact until 04/20/14.
