The LHW division is no longer stagnant. This upcoming weekend, you will be able to watch the greatest light heavyweight to ever grace the octagon. The man who will soon dethrone Jon Jones after Jones stops ducking him. I don't blame Jones. He is worried this might happen to him again.
They say no man can match Jones wrestling at the LHW division, but this man says otherwise. Jones wrestling is no match for this man's unofficial NCAA Division 1 All-Sweden wrestling. Jones was getting tossed on his last time I saw him, i can only imagine what will happen to him this time when he faces the Swedish Phenom.
One thing that shocks, or disappoints me to this day is the lack of respect he gets. This man is a world class fighter. The greatest fighter to ever come from Sweden, arguably all of Europe. But yet, the fans show him no respect. They continue to tell me has no chance. Hell, even the UFC doesn't believe in him. They put him on fight pass against European trash.
MMAMania's own, Andrew Richardson, warned us of his greatness, but we didn't listen. He warned us about his amazing striking....
...he is a very aggressive striker...he throws fairly fast and accurately and hits hard enough to make it dangerous.
Everyone thought he was easy to takedown, but our expert analyst did not...
He clearly has some solid takedown defense....and quickly scrambled back to his feet when his opponent managed to set up a trip
Jones better brush up on his guard, because according to the breakdown...
Once he gets his opponent down, he is very destructive. He looks to posture up immediately and then begins to drop bombs. The way he flows around his opponents is quite impressive as well
And if Jones thinks he can take him down and elbow him, he might want to think otherwise...
...impressive jiu-jitsu game to accompany his wrestling game. In fact, he won the Abu Dhabi Combat Club European trials in 2005, which is a major accomplishment in jiu-jitsu.
Ladies and gentleman, make sure you tune in for UFC Fight Night 37, only on Fight Pass at 12:30 p.m. ET to support Sweden's one and only. A lot of people are writing off his opponent, just because he is a bit old and his ground game is weak. They are saying he is just a European can-crusher and that the UFC is fast tracking the Swedish Phenom's path to the title shot. They are saying this is a gimme fight. Well they are wrong.
His opponent, although a bit on the older side, is a dangerous kickboxer, and has the size and length to make this competitive. He has also knocked out plenty of guys, and a lot of people are not respecting his power. This will be a great fight. However, I still think Cyrille Diabate has no chance against someone as elite as the Lat Dog. Expect the Lat Dog to get a vicious knockout, a POTN, and the respect (and title shot) he finally deserves on Saturday.
"I am the Lat Dog"
