Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will hope to recapture mixed martial arts (MMA) magic when it returns to South America this weekend with a rematch between Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and Dan Henderson, who combined for a legendary back-and-forth brawl back in 2011.
"Shogun vs. Henderson 2" will serve as the main event for UFC Fight Night 38, which will emanate from Nelio Dias Gymnasium in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, this upcoming Sunday evening (March 23, 2014).
Joining the war horses on the FOX Sports 1-televised main card will be a slew of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) winners and alums, including C.B. Dollaway, Cezar Ferreira, Leonardo Santos, Norman Parke and Diego Brandao, among others.

205 lbs.: Shogun Rua vs. Dan Henderson
Round one: Shogun throws a leg kick and Henderson throws a counter left that lands. Shogun lands some leg kicks that go unchecked. Shogun lands a kick to the body. They trade in the picket for a second and go back to a more methodical pace. Henderson charges in and Shogun gets him up against the fence. They separate and Henderson throws a left. Henerson lands a left hook that drops Shogun, but he's back up and drops Henderson. Shogun pounds on Henderson during the closing seconds of the round and it appears it could be stopped at any moment.
(Shogun 10-9)
Round two: Shogun with a series of brutal leg kicks. Shogun throws an overhand right that hurts Hendo. They clinch against the fence but then Shogun decides to separate. Shogun with some jabs. Henderson tries a takedown and doesn't get it. Shogun lands a huge uppercut that sends Hendo down. Shogun down into his guard. Shogun appears to be taking a breather on the top and just doing minimal work on the ground. Shogun stalking him again.

Round three: Henderson charges in and lands a right hand. Shogun back to work with his jab. Shogun keeps working jabs and leg kicks. Henderson goes for a takedown and lands a huge right hand. He follows up on Shogun, and the ref waves it off.
Final result: Dan Henderson defeats Shogun Rua via TKO at 1:31 of the third round

185 lbs.: Cezar Ferreira vs. C.B. Dollaway
Round one: Ferreira comes forward with a flurry of punches, but a counter left hook from Dollaway drops him. Dollaway follows up with a series of punches on the ground and gets the finish.
Final result: C.B. Dollaway defeats Cezar Ferreira via TKO at 0:39 of the first round.

155 lbs.: Leonardo Santos vs. Norman Parke
Round one: Santos opens with a few lighting quick low kicks. Parke throws to the body, and Santos accidentally pokes him in the eye. Parke recovers and takes the center of the Octagon. Santos lands a nice right kick to Parke's body. Parke throwing a lot but not landing much. Parke charges in and initiates a clinch against the cage. Ref breaks them up from a lack of action. Parke lands a nice left hand. Parke initiates another clinch. Ref breaks them again. Santos lands a nice counter left and follows with an uppercut.

Round two: Santos land a nice left uppercut. Both men trade and Parke initiates another clinch. Parke throws a headkick. Both men trading punches now. Santos goes for a takedown, but gets stuffed, and Parke initiates another clinch. Parke grabs Santos' shorts on a takedown attempt and gets a point deducted. Parke clinches again. And after another separation, he clinches again. Dull round.

Round three: Parke comes out aggressive throwing kicks. You'll never guess what he does next. Yep, another clinch. Parke landing a few punches to the stomach. Dirty boxing from Parke, who lands an uppercut in the clinch. The ref separates them and Parke goes right back to the clinch. Awful fight.
Final result: Leonardo Santos and Norman Parke ends in a majority draw (29-28 Santos) (28-28) (28-28

205 lbs.: Fabio Maldonado vs. Gian Villante
Round one: Villante gets Maldonado down early and lands in side control. He's trying to pin down Maldonado's elbows to get into the mounted crucifix, but Maldonado gets out. Villante is now clinging to Maldonado's back and throwing knees to his leg. Villante lands a body lock takedown. He doesn't do a lot from there, but eventually throws some elbows from half guard.

Round two: Villante lands a left hook early that rocks Maldonado. Maldonado lands a few jabs and comes forward. Maldonado is doing work with his jab now, but Villante rushes in for a takedown. He ends up smothering Maldonado Jon Fitch style before landing a few brutal knees against the cage that open Maldonado up. Maldonado fights back and lands a body shot. Maldonado coming back with punches now. He's working the jab again and backing Villante up. Maldonado lighting him up with punches now. Villante goes for a double leg and Maldonado stuffs it. Villante's hands are down and Maldonado is just teeing off on him. Great round.

Round three: Maldonado backing him up with punches now. Villante is totally gassed. Maldonado throwing more combos. Great body punches from Maldonado. Villante shoots from far away and gets nothing. Maldonado answers by firing off more punches to the bread basket. Maldonado is just having his way with him now Maldonado lands a huge left hook. Maldonado is slaughtering him. He lands a sick uppercut at the end of a three punch combination. If this isn't a 10-8 round then I don't know what is. Vilante is like a human punching bag right now. He's out on his feet with seconds left, but Herb Dean lets him hang on. Crowd gives Maldonado a standing ovation. Awesome performance from Maldonado.

Round one: Both men attempting to get the other's timing down early. Not much action. Prazeres throws a huge left hook. They clinch against the fence and Prazeres powers him to the ground with a running body lock takedown. The Brazilian in full mount now landing shots to the side of the head. Taisumov regains half guard, but Prazeres moves into north south. Taisumov escapes and gets back to his feet. Prazeres closes the distance and clinches against the fence. Once There he gets another body lock takedown. He uses a kimura attempt to move to mount. Prazeres woking for an armbar, but Taisumov defends well and regains full guard. However, Prazeres is landing some big shots from inside the guard. Taisumov accidentally kicks Prazares on the ground and Mario Yamasaki takes away a point.

Round two: It's clarified that Yamasaki took the point away because Taisumov grabbed the fence numerous times throughout the round before the illegal kick, so a combination of the two infractions led to the point deduction. Prazares lands a big shot, but Taisumov recovers and gets the Brazilian on his back. Taisumov grabs the fence yet again when Prazares attempts a takedown, and Mario Yamasaki docks him another point. Ouch. Prazeres lands a head kick and an overhand right. He lands another right. Prazares just stalking him at this point.
(Prazeres 10-8)
Round three: Prazeres lands a right and initiates a clinch, which quickly shrugged off by Taisumov. Prazeres gets another body lock on him and attempts a takedown, but Taisumov gets out. Amazingly, Taisumov grabs the fence again. It earns him a warning from the ref. Mario Yamasaki isn't happy with him right now. Prazeres lands a leg kick. Both men exchanging strikes. Taisumov coming forward with urgency, but he seems gassed. Prazeres gets another takedown and Taisumov doesn't grab the cage this time. Prazeres moves into mount, but Taisumov regains guard. They're back up and Prazeres lands a big left hand.

145 lbs.: Rony Jason vs. Steven Siler
Round one: Siler takes the center of the Octagon and throws some leg kicks to start. Jason wings some hooks that don't find their mark. Siler throws a front kick and then pumps the jab. Jason catches Siler with a counter over hand right and the referee runs in and stops the fight. A replay reveals Siler was throwing an up kick as the referee came in. Real bad stoppage.
Final result: Jason defeats Siler via TKO at 1:17 of the first round.

185 lbs.: Ronny Markes vs. Thiago Santos
Round one: Markes didn't make weight. Santos is under the 185 pound middleweight limit. Markes takes the center of the Octagon. Santos lands a kick to Markes liver and drops him. He swarms him on the ground and pounds him out.
Final result: Thiago Santos defeats Ronny Markes via TKO at 0:53 of the first round

Round one: Jorgensen opens with a punch combo. Formiga attempts a takedown but doesn't get it. Jorgensen keeps charging in and lands an uppercut. Formiga circling away. He throws a looping right hook that misses. Formiga gets Jorgensen down with an accidental headbutt and then takes his back. He's working for a rear naked choke now. Jorgensen taps and it's all over.

Round one: Robertson lands a headkick to start, but gets taken down for his effort. He's working to get up and does. Perpetuo clinches, but Robertson lands a body lock takedown. The American is in full mount and landing punches and elbows. Robertson has his back and going for a rear naked choke and gets the tap.
Final result: Kenny Robertson defeats Thiago Perpetuo via submission at 1:45 of the first round.

Round one: Stringer throws a kick to the body, Barroso catches it, and takes Stringer down. Now Stringer is waiting there on the ground and Barroso is content to just kick his legs. Crowd getting restless. Ref stands them up and Stringer lands a shot that sends Barrosa to the ground. Stringer landing lots of shots on the ground. Stringer throwing shots from inside his guard. Up on their feet now and Stringer is trying to take him down. Stringer has him up against the cage, throwing knees to the body.

Round two: Stringer takes the center of the Octagon and Barroso throws a kick to the body moving backward. Stringer clinches up against the cage, but Barroso reverses. He's throwing knees now. Out of the clinch now and Barroso lands a kick to the body. Stringer goes for a lateral drop but messes up and ends up on bottom. Barroso in his guard now and throwing shits. Stringer active from the bottom attempting to get up and eventually ends up wall walking to his feet. More clinch work against the cage with both men trading periods of dominance. The separate and Stringer attempt to stalk him down and attempts a sloppy takedown. More clinch work and Mario Yamasaki separates them. Barroso has his hands down now and look tired. Stringer lands a left hand. Uppercut finds its mark from Barroso. Stringer lands a left.

Round three: Barroso lands a left hook. Stringer throws an overhand right that finds its mark. Barroso with another kick to the body. Stringer clinches and throws some knees inside. Crowd getting restless. Both men trade leg kicks and Stringer charges in an initiates another clinch. They separate and stringer throws some sloppy punches hat don't find their mark. Barroso with a left hook. Barroso throws a spinning elbow that just misses. Stringer initiates another clinch and the crowd boos instantly. Barroso gets him down with an inside trip and has Stringer on the ground with thirty seconds left. The Brazilian lands a few ground and pound strikes at the end of the round.
