UFC delivers on 'bucket list' promise for teen with terminal brain cancer

Even Nick Diaz was smiling (really).

19-year-old Jake Stoneking is stricken with medulloblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer.

While his family has him on medication in an effort to prolong his life, there is no guarantee he'll make it another three months, an unfortunate reality after the cancer spread to his spinal cord. So, with such a short amount of time to make the most of life, Jake has created a bucket list.

And smack dab at number two was a trip to a live UFC event.

Once news of Stoneking's request hit Twitter, it picked up enough steam online to catch the eye of UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta, who got wind of Jake's story and made a few phone calls. And when you're Lorenzo Fertitta, a few phone calls are all you need.

FOX Sports has some of the details:

On Saturday night, Jake walked out with Johny Hendricks for the main event of UFC 171 here at American Airlines Center and stepped into the Octagon after the fight. For the main card, he's sat in the front row with UFC president Dana White and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta. And before that, he got the full VIP treatment, hanging out with UFC fighters like Forrest Griffin, Gilbert Melendez and Nick Diaz backstage while watching the prelims.

"I never dreamt I'd do it in a million years," Jake told FOX Sports. "This is insane. I shouldn't be here."

Hangin' with the 209!

And if you're going to see a UFC event, you couldn't do much better than UFC 171: "Hendricks vs. Lawler," which featured an insane, five-round slugfest between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler (watch it), with "Bigg Rigg" squeaking by with a unanimous decision win.

And the 170-pound title.
