Video: Tyron Woodley says Carlos Condit injury doesn't cheapen UFC 171 win because he was 'dominating the fight'

Shades of "Weidman vs. Silva 2?"

"I was dominating Carlos Condit, which is a hard thing to do. I surprised him with the leg kick. He wasn't expecting it because he's the leg kicker. So for me to go out there and chop his leg down ... his knee got injured from getting taken down, from a great, timed double leg. It's just a part of the game, like if I did an armbar and he doesn't tap or I do a choke and he doesn't tap. It's a part of the game so it doesn't take away from the victory for me because I was dominating the fight."

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight contender Tyron Woodley (13-2) is inching closer to a division title shot after disposing of Carlos Condit in the co-main event of UFC 171: "Hendricks vs. Lawler," which took place last Saturday night (March 15, 2014) inside American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas (results here). The victory -- which came after "The Natural Born Killer" blew out his knee in the second stanza (see how it happened here) -- marks the second in a row for the Strikeforce import, though it has yet to be determined if he's going to be "The Chosen One" when it comes to picking the next challenger for newly-minted titleholder Johny Hendricks. Perhaps he can fight Hector Lombard or even Rory MacDonald for a crack at the crown, since UFC President Dana White was non-committal about giving Woodley an immediate title shot. Is it possible that not everyone agrees with "T-Wood's" post-fight assessment?
