Dana White on Ronda Rousey vs. Cris Cyborg fight: Maybe we can do it

Joe Camporeale-US PRESSWIRE

If you're still aching to see Ronda Rousey vs. Cris Cyborg, here's Dana White to give you some hope.

Although Ronda Rousey's victory over Sara McMann in the main event of last night's (Sat., Feb. 22, 2014) UFC 170: "Rousey vs. McMann" pay-per-view (PPV) at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, came via controversial stoppage (watch the highlights here), it's a victory nonetheless.

And it keeps the door open for a fight against Cris Cyborg, who recently announced she'll be dropping down to 135-pounds.

Indeed, immediately after referee Herb Dean halted the action in last night's women's bantamweight championship showdown, Cyborg took to Twitter to make a plea to UFC President Dana White:

Naturally, White was asked about the potential for the fight at the UFC 170 post-fight press conference. He said:

"Well, like I told you guys the other day, I think the genius (Tito Ortiz) put her in a box because, you know, saying that you'll die if you make 135-pounds is a pretty bold statement. She would probably have to make 135-pounds a couple times somewhere else and fight to show she's healthy and we'll see what happens. ... She's gotta fight, she's gotta make weight a few times. We'll see what happens. There's a lot of things that would have to happen before we... First, we would have to come to a deal. She would have to fight, make 135-pounds a couple times somewhere else, and if she's healthy or whatever maybe we can do it."

So you're saying there's a chance.

Giggity.

How does Rousey feel about it?

"Of course I'm interested in it, but she's the one that asked to be released by the UFC like the day after they announced out-of-competition drug testing. I'm not going anywhere. She knows where I'm at."

Maniacs, you're dying for this fight, aren't you?
