Broncos vs. Seahawks Super Bowl halftime score 2014: Seattle shuts out Denver, 22-0

The first half of Super Bowl 48 is officially in the books!

1st Quarter Score | 2nd Quarter Score | 3rd Quarter Score | 4th Quarter Score

Two quarters of action have been completed at Super Bowl 48 tonight (Sun., Feb. 2, 2014) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and the Seattle Seahawks are leading the Denver Broncos by a score of 22-0.

It was an ugly start for Denver. Seattle won the coin toss -- it was tails, for all you degenerate gamblers out there -- and deferred to the second half. That was a risky play against such a high powered offense but Denver fumbled away the first snap of the game and it went into the end zone for a safety.

The ensuing first quarter was a picture of domination for the NFC Champions.

Seattle moved the ball at will but had to settle for field goals each time they made it into the red zone. Still, the defense was lights out, forcing a Denver three-and-out on their next possession, then intercepting Manning on the possession right after.

In fact, the Broncos failed to record a first down in the first quarter.

It didn't get much better in the second. Sure, the boys in orange finally picked up a few first downs, but they were forced to scratch and claw for every single inch they gained. Once they did put a long drive together, threatening deep in Seattle territory, Manning had his arm hit during a pass and the floating football was picked off by Malcolm Smith and run back for a touchdown.

It got so bad that Denver was forced to go for it deep in Seattle territory on 4th and 2. Manning's pass was batted and fell incomplete, meaning a second long drive ended with no points.

That was the story of the first half. Can the Seahawks continue dominating the rest of the way? Or will the Broncos made the necessary adjustments to climb back into it?

Quick stats:
