UFC announces FOX Sports 1 'Fight Night' card for U.S. Bank Arena in promotion's May 10 return to Cincinnati

Joe Camporeale-US PRESSWIRE

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is putting on the most events in its young history in 2014. All the more reason for the promotion to make its long-awaited return to Cincinnati for the first time since 2007.

Any fight fans out there remember UFC 77?

If you do, chances are it's because of the main event, which featured Anderson Silva's destruction of Rich Franklin in defense of the middleweight strap he stripped from "Ace" the year before, and probably not for the fact that the card represented the last Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event held in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Until now.

The ZUFFA-owned promotion announced on Tuesday that it would be making its first appearance in "Queen City" since 2007, with a "Fight Night" card on FOX Sports 1 inside the U.S. Bank Arena on May 10, 2014.

Tickets for the event will go on sale in a little over a month on March 21, 2014, at 10 a.m. local time.

No bouts have been formerly announced for the pending mixed martial arts (MMA) card, but you can bet we'll bring you all the relevant details just as soon as they're made available.

Stay tuned.
