Without much of a fanfare it seems like they opened up Fight Pass to countries outside the ones they launched with - not sure if this is global as yet but we have had access to it here in Sweden for about 2 weeks. Anyone from other new locations had access to it recently?
C More the pay TV channel in Sweden that has been broadcasting UFC events is renegotiating with Zuffa, so we have not had a single televised live event in 2014 so far. Luckily fight pass was broadcasting both the prelims and main card from the weekend here. Hopefully they will come to an agreement soon so I can get back to high quality HD TV broadcasts.
So Sunday morning I got up and streamed my first card on fight pass - I just streamed through the laptop rigged up to my big screen via HDMI. The quality of the stream was pretty good, I have a fast connection (500 Mbps Fibre) and picked the 720 HD stream and it was decent. Some jerky moments here and there but the picture quality was good. I was easily able to move between the fights on the card also using the controls.
So far so good!
I am not sure what the deal is with the PPVs, I think they will only stream the prelims here and I would have to pay for the main card which is never happening for 170. I would just about watch it if it was free!
The fight library obviously needs work but so far I think I will be happy dropping $10 a month to get access to the free streams / prelims.
I am interested to see how everyone else is finding it so far?
