Longtime mixed martial arts (MMA) and kickboxing veteran Melvin Manhoef will return to the cage next month to welcome Joe Schilling to the Spike TV airwaves on the main card of Bellator 131, which takes place inside the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, Calif., on Nov. 15, 2014.
Bellator announced the middleweight match up on Friday night.
Mahoef (29-11-1, 1 no-contest) is fresh off his destruction of Doug Marshall last month on the cable television network. It was the second straight MMA victory for "No Mercy," who went winless in 2013, in addition to his struggles inside the GLORY ring.
And he's facing a competitor who knows a thing or two about the stand-up game.
Schilling, however, hasn't tried his luck in MMA for over six years, following a dreadful 2008 run that left him just 1-3, with all three losses coming by way of submission. I'm pretty sure the GLORY kickboxer won't have to worry about the ground game against Manhoef.
Any way this fight goes the distance?
Bellator 131 will be headlined by the light heavyweight grudge match pitting former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweights Tito Ortiz and Stephan Bonnar. In addition, Michael Chandler and "Ill" Will Brooks will slug it out for the Bellator lightweight strap.
