Official UFC rankings updated after UFC Fight Night 34: Saffiedine and Kawajiri on the move, bantamweights get promoted

UFC.com has updated its "official" consensus rankings following this past Saturday's UFC Fight Night 34 event, which includes three contributions from MMAmania.com staff members. Check out the big mixed martial arts (MMA) movers and shakers below.

The latest "official" Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rankings are out with the conclusion of UFC Fight Night 34, which took place last weekend (Sat., Jan. 4, 2014) at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

As expected, there was a major shake-up in the 135-pound division, now that Dominick Cruz has been stripped of the bantamweight title and sent to the locker room with a bum groin. Renan Barao takes over as champion and the rest of the contenders enjoy an unexpected promotion.

That's not all.

Tarec Saffiedine moved up one place after his epic five-rounder against Hyun Gyu Lim last weekend on the "Fight Pass" network, while Tatsuya Kawajiri -- also taking home the "W" at UFC Fight Night 34 -- makes his UFC rankings debut with the No. 14 spot at 145 pounds.

Plenty more where that came from.
