Who said there isn't life after Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)?
Former light heavyweight contender and Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 8 runner-up Vinny Magalhaes has inked a five-fight deal with Titan Fighting Championship (Titan FC) and is expected to make his debut this April against an opponent to be named, according to a report from MMA Fighting.
Magalhaes (10-7, 1 NC) was bounced from UFC following back-to-back losses to Phil Davis at UFC 159 and most recently, Anthony Perosh at UFC 163. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu wizard was also the 205-pound champion under the M-1 banner, but had a bit of a falling out that ended with his belt up for sale on Ebay (seriously).
He also claimed top honors at the Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) in 2011.
The signing of "Pezao" comes just days after Titan FC landed another outstanding grappler -- also a UFC veteran -- in the form of George Sotiropoulos (details). In addition, top Brazilian bantamweight prospect Luis "Japa" Rafael Laurentino will also join the team (more on that here).
Titan FC 28 is expected to take place on Saturday, April 19, 2014 on the CBS Sports Network; however, details have yet to be finalized.
