Cole Miller: 'Cowboy' Cerrone and I will eventually throw down, even if it's not inside the Octagon

Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

"Magrinho" desperately wants to throw down with Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone, even if it means settling their beef outside of the UFC's Octagon.

Cole Miller really, really wants to get his hands on Donald Cerrone.

So much so, that "Magrinho" told Sherdog's Beatdown Radio that before he leaves this world, he and "Cowboy" are going to throw down, even if the fight doesn't take place inside the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Octagon.

Because at the end of the day, it's a personal beef the American Top Team (ATT)-trained fighter desperately wants to take care of.

He explains:

"I saw where he said he was considering dropping down to 145. It's not like I just called out some dude in a weight class that's not in mine. He was the one that brought it up, so I was like, 'oh, that's a fight.' That's a little bit of a personal beef, I guess you could say, that's been going on for quite some time. I've made the statement that before my day is done in this world, we're going to throw down. It may or may not happen in the UFC. It doesn't look like it's going to happen now, and honestly, I didn't even know he had a fight coming up this (past) weekend when I made that statement."

After Cole defeated Sam Sicilia at UFC Fight Night 35: "Rockhold vs. Philippou," he took the opportunity to call out "Clown Boy" Cerrone, advising him to lay off the beer if he really wanted to make the 145-pound limit as he recently revealed he would do.

Just 10 days after being called out by Miller, "Cowboy" made mince meat (video) of Adriano Martins at UFC on FOX 10, knocking out the jiu-jitsu ace in the very first round in Chicago, Illinois, in what could have possibly been Cerrone's final fight at 155 pounds.

Should Donald decide to stay put at lightweight, or if UFC officials are opposed to a Miller vs. Cerrone scrap, then Cole will settle for another top 10 fighter.

Something he says he deserves:

"I know that my skill set is top 10. I know that I'm a top-10 contender with my striking and with my grappling. It's just about mixing it together in the cage on fight day and piecing it together. It just seems like this past year, 2013, and now starting 2014, things are finally starting to click for me and I wanted that to be known. If you just sit there and you be quiet and you don't speak up, then who's going to know?"

Miller broke his hand against Sicilia, which means that talented featherweight will likely be riding the pine for a while before he gets back into the Octagon.

Cerrone, meanwhile, is already pining to get back into the cage, revealing at the UFC on FOX 10 post-fight press conference (watch it here) that he wouldn't mind fighting at UFC 171 or 172 in an attempt to complete his goal of fighting six times in 2014.

That's plenty of chances for "Cowboy" to fit "Magrinho" into his busy and ambitious fight schedule.

Both are on a two-fight winning streaks, they obviously don't like one another, so whats stopping Sean Shelby and Joe Silva from making this fight down the road?
