Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight Tim Kennedy will finally get his wish, as the promotion today rubber stamped his 185-pound showdown against Michael Bisping for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) "Nations" live finale on April 16, 2014 in Quebec City, Canada.
After some "inconclusive results," Bisping was finally able to get cleared by a doctor following his near-catastrophic eye injury last fall. "The Count" hasn't competed since winning a technical decision over Alan Belcher at the UFC 159 event last April.
Kennedy (17-4) has been pining for a fight against the brash Brit for months, even going so far as to draw up a mock bout agreement following his emphatic win over Rafael Natal at the promotion's "Fight for the Troops" event last November. It was his third straight win and second under the UFC banner, and now he's looking to take a step up in competition.
The winner could make a strong case for a spot on the very short list of middleweight title contenders.
Aside from the tournament finals in both the welterweight and middleweight divisions, TUF Nations -- expected to air on FOX Sports 1 and Fight Pass -- will feature a co-main event between Patrick Cote and Kyle Noke, who currently serve as head coaches on the combat sports reality show.
