Ben Henderson vs. Josh Thomson fight results UFC on Fox 10, Round 5

Patience was the name of the game early in the fifth, but Henderson worked a knee to the body that landed with a sickening thud. Thomson ate it like it was his post-fight meal.

The boo birds came out not long after this because Thomson wasn't throwing thanks to his (possibly) broken hand and Henderson, for some reason, wasn't nearly as aggressive as you would imagine considering the story of the first four rounds.

"Bendo" was extremely measured in his attack, actually, and he stayed back at distance content to fire away after bouncing back and forth on the balls of his feet.

Thomson stayed back and avoided getting hit, for the most part, until the time was right to shoot in and score yet another takedown. No, he didn't find any more success with it after that, but at least he earned it.

With one minute left, the two were literally locked in a tight embrace, like they were hugging in the cage while switching back and forth against the fence. Despite the hammer shadowing the final 10 secons of the bout, Henderson was hesitant.

And then it ended.

Henderson walked around with his hands up. No one was sure why.

FINAL DECISION: 48-47 Thomson, 48-47 Henderson, and 49-46 Henderson.

Uh, okay.
