Henderson came out fast and furious in the third, rushing across the cage and opening the striking with a Superman punch. That led to a predictable clinch, only this time Henderson took Thomson's back.
It was then that color commentator Joe Rogan alerted us to the fact that Thomson's told his corner in between rounds that he broke his right hand.
That's probably why he wasn't exchanging punches with Henderson while standing, instead working harder to earn takedowns. "Bendo" was fending them off without issue, however, creating quite the conundrum for "The Punk".
Henderson jumped in a few times and Thomson looked to drag him down, but after teasing a guillotine attempt, "Smooth" simply found his feet and they battled some more.
A body kick from the former UFC champ was enough to put an off balance Thomson down, but Henderson couldn't do anything with it.
On to the "championship" rounds!
