The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 12 champion Jonathan Brookins is making his way back into mixed martial arts (MMA) after a brief retirement, recently signing a new deal with Legacy Fighting Championship (LFC).
The former lightweight will make his 125-pound debut against Cody Fuller on March 21, 2014 inside the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa in Catoosa, Okla., live on AXS TV.
MMA Fighting brought word of the booking earlier today.
Brookins (13-6) struggled to find success after turning away Michael Johnson in the TUF Finale just over three years ago. After outpointing "The Menace," the lanky Floridian went just 1-3, getting finished in his final two featherweight fights under the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) banner.
If at first you don't succeed...
Waiting to greet him is Fuller (10-7), who knows a thing or two about losing streaks. The Blacklock Vale Tudo-product put up a pair of goose eggs in his 2013 fight campaign, including a technical knockout loss to Ryan Benoit at the LFC event back in October.
In addition to Brookins vs. Fuller, LFC 29 is expected to feature the promotional debut of undefeated lightweight Gilbert Burns.
