Report: Ivan Menjivar meets Hatsu Hioki at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) China Finale on March 1 in Macao

Ivan Menjivar will switch weight classes on March 1, 2014, when he faces Hatsu Hioki at The Ultimate Fighter: "China" live finale in Macao.

The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) China debuted Dec. 7, 2013 on Liaoning Satellite TV and will culminate in a finale on Mar. 1, 2014 from the Cotai Arena in Macao, China.

In addition to the finalists of the season’s welterweight and featherweight tournaments entering the Octagon to be crowned TUF winner, Canadian mixed martial arts (MMA) outlet Top MMA News is reporting that Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has booked Ivan Menjivar in a bout against Hatsu Hioki.

The "Pride of El Salvador” has lost three of his previous four and will be looking to start fresh in 2014.

In his last two fights under the UFC banner, the 31-year-old was submitted by Urijah Faber, followed by a decision loss at the hands of Wilson Reis. The Tristar team member has since left the bantamweight division and will look to make headway in the crowded featherweight weight class.

Most go down, he's going up.

Hioki is a former Shooto and PRIDE FC fighter who won his first two scraps in UFC before losing his last three. All five of his ZUFFA brand fights have ended in a decision. His 26-7 record includes victories over Mark Hominick (twice)Jeff CurranGeorge Roop and Bart Palaszewski.

His losses have come against names like Darren ElkinsClay Guida and the man who will challenge Jose Aldo for the 145-pound title, Ricardo Lamas.

It's safe to assume TUF: China Finale will air on UFC's freshly announced "Fight Pass" digital network. Stay tuned to for more news and notes on this upcoming event in the coming weeks.
