UFC 169: Bobby Green was 'sh-tting blood' and forced to withdraw from Abel Trujillo fight

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

After the news dropped that Bobby Green would no longer fight Abel Trujillo at UFC 169 in Newark, New Jersey, on Feb. 1, 2014, the surging lightweight logged online and let the world know why he is not going to compete.

Originally, UFC 169 was set to have two lightweights who were victorious at UFC on FOX 9 square off in battle to decide who will continue their ascension up the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) ranks. The two combatants came in the form of Bobby Green against Abel Trujillo.

Tuesday, UFC officials revealed that Green was forced to withdraw from his bout against "Killa," (who will now face a game Jamie Varner), but "King" quickly let the mixed martial arts (MMA) world know why he won't be entering the Octagon in on Feb. 1, 2014, in Newark, NJ.

From his official Twitter account:

"I apologize guys this last fight is being rushed I need to get checked. Something happened after the Krause fight I pushed through and fought past now it seems to be bothering me even more. I started shitting blood so I went to the hospital after the Krause fight they did a ultrasound and sent me home so something is up and needs to be checked. I have a appt to get a scope ran down my throat it's too close to the fight for me to get ready. Trust Me I'm on a roll Y would I want to stop now lol if I was good to fight trust I would."

In summary, Green insists his fight with Trujillo was coming up to soon due to an injury he may have suffered against James Krause at UFC: "Fight for the Troops 3." He fought through the issues against Pat Healy, but now that he is "shitting blood," he decided to take some time off and get healthy.

TMI!

Trujillo, who will now face the former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) lightweight champion, takes no offense.

Hopefully "King" heals up nice and quick, and mixed martial arts (MMA) fans are given the bout originally promised.
