Earlier today (Sun., Jan. 19, 2014), the Denver Broncos defeated the New England Patriots, 26-16, while the Seattle Seahawks knocked off the San Francisco 49ers, 23-17, to advance to Super Bowl 48, scheduled to be played at MetLife Stadium on Feb. 2, 2014, at around 6:30 p.m. ET.

The way these two teams got to the big game makes for an intriguing match-up, and one we haven't seen since 1990 when the New York Giants met the Buffalo Bills: The number one ranked offense (Denver) vs. the number one ranked defense (Seattle).
Peyton Manning threw for 400 yards and 2 touchdowns today while the vaunted Seahawks secondary, collectively known as the "Legion of Boom", held the 49ers to just 147 yards passing while intercepting two of Colin Kaepernick's passes, including one in the end zone to preserve their lead and win the game in the closing 30 seconds.
Early odds indicate this game will be a pick 'em, meaning there is no clear favorite nor a clear underdog.
Perhaps that's how it should be.
See you in two weeks!
