SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS VS. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS, NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
Quarter 4
49ers - 17
Seahawks - 13
Seattle ball at their own 47 yard line.
3rd and 25: The pass from Russel Wilson is caught by Zach Miller for 15 yards. That sets up a long field goal.
4th and 7: Instead of a field goal, Seattle ended up burning a timeout and going for it at the 49ers 35 yard line. They got an offsides but it didn't matter after Wilson threw a long touchdown to Jermaine Kearse. That was a 35 yarder to go ahead by three after the extra point was good.
49ers - 17
Seahawks - 20
LaMichael James got a nice return, finally, but a flag came out for holding. Because of course it would in this game. Pretty sure the referees decided who they favor in this one.
San Francisco ball at their own 11 yard line.
1st and 10: Kaepernick couldn't find Boldin on a route up the sideline.
2nd and 10: Pass caught by Gore over the middle for a gain of five.
3rd and 5: In a huge spot, Kaepernick rolled left, threw across his body, and found Boldin for a big first down to keep the drive alive.
1st and 10: Kendall Hunter went off the left side and couldn't find much room, picking up just two yards.
2nd and 8: Kaepernick decided to run and went out of bounds just under two yards shy of the marker.
3rd and 1: In a huge spot, they get called for delay of game.
3rd and 6: Kaepernick was hit from behind, sacked, fumbled, and the Seahawks recovered it.
Seattle ball at the San Francisco 6 yard line.
1st and Goal: Lynch was hit twice before being tackled after a gain of a yard.
2nd and Goal: Seattle is whistled and called for a false start. That puts them back at the 10 yard line.
2nd and Goal: They ran play-action and Wilson threw too high for Tate on the outside.
3rd and Goal: A pass was caught and then fumbled, clearly recovered by Navarro Bowman, but the referees ruled that Seattle came away with it, even though reviews made it clear that wasn't the case at all. In addition, Bowman was severely injured on the play. This was really sad, a true black mark on the NFL.
4th and Goal: Seattle went for it and Lynch fumbled. The ball bounced around forever and San Francisco eventually came up with it. It didn't matter, it was their ball anyway.
San Francisco ball at their own 15 yard line.
1st and 10: Hunter runs for 10 yards, fighting for it.
1st and 10: Kaepernick throws it right to a Seattle defender. That was awful.
Seattle ball at the San Francisco 40 yard line.
1st and 10: Turbin runs off the left side and gains just two.
2nd and 8: A rollout off play-action saw Wilson go way too high, incomplete.
3rd and 8: Wilson from the shotgun found Tate for a first down. He show boated after, no flag. Because of course there wouldn't be in this game. Not against Seattle, at least.
1st and 10: Lynch runs for two yards after breaking a million tackles.
2nd and 8: Wilson fumbled the snap and picked it up just to throw it away. Because it was a busted running play and receivers were blocking downfield, they got called for pass interference.
2nd and 18: Lynch on an inside handoff goes nowhere, maybe a three yard gain.
3rd and 15: From the shotgun, Wilson found Tate for a short gain. That sets up for a field goal attempt of 47 yards.
4th and 11: Right down the pipe, the field goal went in.
49ers - 17
Seahawks - 23
The kickoff is returned, but not far.
San Francisco ball at their own 22 yard line.
1st and 10: They run an option to Hunter where he looked like he wanted to throw but decided to run and lost a yard.
2nd and 11: Kaepernick found Boldin for a gain of 9 to bring up a short third down with under two and a half minutes left.
3rd and 2: Kaepernick's pass to Crabtree went too far inside and fell incomplete.
4th and 2: Kaepernick found Gore for a big first down conversion and 17 yards. A perfect pass across his body. It turns out, they added a second to the clock. So now it's at the two minute warning.
1st and 10: Kaepernick broke a couple tackles on his way to a four yard gain.
2nd and 6: Kaepernick found Boldin to the 45 yard line for four more.
3rd and 2: Big throw and catch to Crabtree for a first down. Big play.
1st and 10: Kaepernick found Davis for another first down, this one for 11 yards.
1st and 10: Kaepernick went to the end zone but Richard Sherman deflected it and another Seahawks defender came down with it. That's the game.
Seattle ball at their own 18 yard line.
1st and 10: Wilson kneels and that's it.
2nd and 11: Wilson kneels again because San Francisco called a timeout.
3rd and 12: Wilson kneels one final time because the 49ers called yet another timeout.
49ers - 17
Seahawks - 23
