"Yes, once I can get through my weight class, I would love to retire at 185. I definitely don't want to go down a weight class."
-- In order for Johny Hendricks to make the 170-pound limit to compete in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight division, he has to cut down from 220 pounds. That's 50 pounds "Bigg Rigg" has to shed over the course of a training camp. So it's no wonder he wants to take his talents to the middleweight division and retire as a 185-pound fighter when it's all said and done. Hendricks said as much during a recent fan chat with Dallas News. But before the hard-hitting lefty battles the big boys, he has to clean out the 170-pound division, something he is far from doing. His first step is trying to win the division strap for the first time as he challenges Robbie Lawler for the vacant title at UFC 171 on Mar. 15, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. After he has a few title defenses in his pocket, we could see "Bigg Rigg" at middleweight trying to claim that title, as well. One thing is certain, he won't be dropping back down, because when he eventually makes the jump up, he will be staying there forever. Think Hendricks can hang with the Brazilian death squad, comprised of guys like "Jacare," Machida and Belfort?
