Well, this is good to know, in case someone in the main event gets hurt heading into UFC on FOX 10.
Top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight contender Nate Diaz has been in the headlines over the past few days, thanks to a dispute with promotion president Dana White, who claims The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 champion turned down a fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The Diaz camp insists
he's full of shit it's the other way around.
Following his emphatic win over Gray Maynard at the TUF 18 finale last month in Las Vegas (watch it), Diaz told the mixed martial arts (MMA) world that he -- along with Gilbert Melendez -- were the two best fighters at 155 pounds. In addition, the wily Stockton slugger opted to sit on the sidelines and wait for the next title shot.
With Anthony Pettis on the shelf for the next few months, that's out of the question (for everybody).
That means Diaz has to get paid (see his salary here). And if he can't come to terms with UFC on a bout against "The Eagle," then he will gladly slap someone else around for three rounds, according to his official Twitter. When and where? He'll fight "tomorrow," if need be, assuming he doesn't have any previous social commitments.
I hear Michael Johnson is looking for a fight ...
