Takeya Mizugaki meets Nam Phan at UFC Fight Night 33

Another bout has been added to UFC Fight Night 33 at the Brisbane Entertainment Center in Brisbane, Australia on Dec. 7, 2013. The card is headlined by Mark Hunt looking to get back on the winning track when he faces Antonio Silva. In the co-main event, Mauricio Rua meets James Te Huna in light heavyweight action.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has announced that Takeya Mizugaki will meet Nam Phan in bantamweight action. These two featherweights have been perennial mid-card fighters, with neither fighter vying for a title inside the UFC.

Mizugaki is currently riding a three-fight winning streak, with wins over Bryan Caraway and Erick Perez. He's also shared the cage with Urjiah Faber and Brian Bowles in losing efforts.

The choice of Phan is a bit questionable. Phan hasn't exactly been able to put together a stellar run inside the Octagon. In fact, at 2-4, it's been downright disappointing. He was last seen dropping a Unanimous Decision to Dennis Siver at UFC on Fox: Henderson vs Diaz.

A win for Mizugaki likely puts him in title consideration at Bantamweight. At the very lease, he'll be facing the top of the division.
