Gustafsson clearly dominated the first three rounds and 4.30 of the fourth round before the 30 second flurry which to quote Joe Rogan "easily won Jones the fourth". This fight reminded me of the Shogun vs. Machida 1 fight where Shogun dominated and still lost the fight. People say things like "You got to beat the man to be the man!" but what about Bendo? did he "beat the man" when he won a Controversial UD in the first Frankie fight? The Judging is so stupid these days its just beyond a joke now. One of the judges had the fight 49-46 and there is no response from anyone regarding this? but CJ Ross scores the Mayweather - Canelo fight a draw and it's a travesty!!!!?!?
Gustafsson did a lot more damage to Jones in the first 3 rounds and 4 min 30 seconds of the 4th round, he dictated the pace of the fight, had OCTAGON CONTROL ... which if i'm not mistaken is one of the criteria for the judges, and he defended 90%! yes 90% of Jones's 10 takedown attempts and even took Jones down to add insult to injury. Jones was busted up and just dominated for 85% of the fight and got one very good flurry were he rocked Gus and then lost the first half of round 5 and won that round marginally with the late takedown and head kicks.
I had round 1, 2 and 3 for Gus all 10-9 rounds and i had the 4th 10-10 because of the flurry and then the last round was a 10-9 to jones because it was pretty even with both having their good moments but Jones takes it due to the takedown and head kicks in the last 30 seconds of the fight.
