UFC Fight Night 33 marks the first Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) show in Brisbane, Australia, on Dec. 7, 2013. The FOX Sports 1-televised event already features a Heavyweight tilt between Mark Hunt and Antonio Silva, as well as a Light Heavyweight mixed martial arts (MMA) match up between Mauricio Rua and James Te Huna.
Barry last competed at UFC 161 against Shawn Jordan. He lost the fight within the first minute of the first round by technical knockout. It marked he third time that Barry had been finished by punches in his UFC career. That loss also brought his UFC record to a lackluster 5-6.
Palelei successfully made his UFC return last month at UFC 164 against Nikita Krylov on the Facebook "Prelims," finishing the young fighter by technical knockout in the third round. The bout was widely considered a stinker, with UFC President Dana White not even bothering to name the fighters when discussing it at the post-fight press conference.
Both of these fighters are likely feeling the heat from UFC management. With Barry now dealing with a losing record in the UFC and Palelei's performance last month, they need to walk away with an impressive win to stay in favor.
