UFC 164: "Henderson vs. Pettis 2" rocked BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisc., last night (Sat., Aug. 31, 2013) featuring a Lightweight championship main event in which Anthony Pettis pulled off a surprise first round submission (armbar) over Ben Henderson to claim the 155-pound world title (watch highlights here).
The co-main event was just as entertaining, with Josh Barnett putting Frank Mir through his grinder en route to a first round technical knockout (watch highlights here) that some mixed martial arts (MMA) fans felt was perhaps a bit premature.
The other four main card bouts that aired on pay-per-view (PPV) were also entertaining, with Chad Mendes registering the first-ever technical knockout of Clay Guida inside the Octagon (watch highlights here), Ben Rothwell smashing Brandon Vera in the third round of their Heavyweight scrap (watch highlights here) and Dustin Poirier outlasting Erik Koch in a 15-minute back-and-forth brawl (watch highlights here).
And the UFC 164 "Prelims" (read full recap here) weren't too shabby, either.
