UFC 163 drug test results come back clean from Aug. 3 event in Rio De Janeiro

Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA) tested all 24 Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighters who were included on UFC 163's fight card, which took place at the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro on Aug. 3, 2013. The results of those tests are now official.

UFC 163 drug test results are in from the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA), which today (Aug. 9, 2013) revealed in a press release that all fighters passed their tests with flying colors.

"The Brazilian Athletic Commission (CABMMA) informs that all the fighters who participated in UFC 163 held in Rio de Janeiro on August 3, 2013, were submitted to tests of anti-doping control. The results of these tests did not reveal any illicit drug use, and/or to improve performance, stimulants or substances used to mask the use of the same by any of the athletes who participated in UFC 163."

MMA Fighting reports that every athlete was tested prior to competing plus the two headlining fighters, Jose Aldo and challenger Chan Sung Jung, along with four other randomly selected fighters, were tested after they competed inside the Octagaon.

All 24 fighters competitors, were screened either before or after competing at the "Aldo vs Korean Zombie"-led event at the HSBC Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, on Aug. 3, for performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) such as steroids and drugs of abuse like cocaine and marijuana, among others.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo defeated Jung in the fourth round of their championship fight in the featured bout of the night, while Phil Davis managed to eke out a controversial unanimous decision over Lyoto Machida in the co-headlining fight.
